STEAM Coaches

Grant Writers
Role and Responsibilities
Grant Writers may attend 1-2 Board meetings per year. The Grant writer is about 8 hours or less per week of work. Applicants must be local or available to travel to St Tammany Parish as needed. They report to the board and are overseen by the Board President.
Key Expectations
- Find and recommend 2 Grants per month
- Advise Board Members on the status of us being “Grant Ready.”
- Present status of pending grants to the voting board members Monthly.
- Seek approval from the Vice President and one other board member for grants that are for general use and have no stipulations attached.
- Seek approval from the President and one other board member for grants not for general use &/or have any stipulations attached.
- Provide contact info to the voting board members for all grants so they can maintain relationships.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Relevant work experience of 1 year or more.
Preferred Skills
- Writing, Research, and people skills.
- Some Experience with Google Workspaces.
Fund Raisers
Role and Responsibilities
Fundraising is about 8 hours or less per week of work. Applicants must be local or available to travel to St Tammany Parish as needed. They report to the board and are overseen by predefined board members.
Key Expectations
- Have a detailed understanding of what the organization does and when we are out in the community.
- Understand sponsor tiering.
- Contact 5 potential donors per month via phone.
- Email 10 potential donors per month.
- Update coaching board member of incoming donations.
- Schedule any required in person meetings for donations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Outgoing personality.
- Perseverance to receive multiple No’s and not get discouraged.
- Creativity in conversation and presentation.
Preferred Skills
- Writing, Research, and people skills.
- Some Experience with Google Workspaces
Marketing Assistant
Role and Responsibilities
Marketing Assistants may attend 1-2 Board meetings per year. The Marketing Assistant is about 8 hours or less per week of work. Applicants must be local or available to travel to St Tammany Parish as needed. This is an advisory role that reports to the voting members.
Key Expectations
- Maintain Social Media accounts
- Advise on ways to increase Presence
- Recommend financial needs for marketing
- Advise on website, marketing materials and other relevant items.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Relevant work experience of 2 years or more
Preferred Skills
- Professionally maintaining various social media outlets
- Graphic Design
- Photography
- Some Experience with Google Workspaces.
Parent Liaison (Board Member)
No access to document.
Diversity Lead (Board Member)
Role and Responsibilities
As a Board member, the Diversity Lead is responsible for ensuring we are committed to providing our services to more communities as we grow. They report to the board president. The Diversity lead should also ensure our B-Laws and documentation is inclusive and does not limit access to any groups or individuals who want to participate. The only limit of the organization is capacity.
Key Expectations
- Reach out to communities we are not serving
- Extend awareness of our organization to all communities.
- Review By-Laws and other documentation to ensure we are not excluding any demographics.
- Authorize all special meetings around Diversity and inclusion.
- Review Social media, marketing and other collateral as needed.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- 2+ years leadership Experience.
- Voted in by the board.
Preferred Skills
- Team building and engagement.
- Experience in STEAM industries.
- Some Experience with Google workspaces.
