Dr. Leroy Simpson is an esteemed Psychology Professor and Industrial Organizational Psychologist with a profound interest in the convergence of technology, robotics, and artificial intelligence with human behavior, cognition, and decision-making. Currently, his research focuses on the emerging field of robopsychology and the profound influence of gaming within this domain. In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Simpson plays a pivotal role as the Board Vice President of Northshore Robotics, where he actively strives to enhance opportunities in robotics and STEAM education throughout Louisiana. He envisions Northshore Robotics as a catalyst for empowering young individuals and positioning them for success in an era dominated by automation. Driven by the belief that automation will significantly impact people’s quality of life, he aspires to serve as an advisor to both public and private institutions in the realms of robotics, artificial intelligence, and gaming. By doing so, he aims to foster the growth of these institutions and facilitate a seamless transition for young individuals, equipping them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies to excel in these fields. Ultimately, his objective is to cultivate a skilled workforce in the State of Louisiana, instilling confidence in pursuing companies and industries that revolve around STEAM jobs. Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Simpson dedicates his leisure time to activities such as exercise, immersing himself in literature on technology and space exploration, and engaging in games with his 11-year-old daughter, who is also a student at Northshore Robotics. He cherishes the opportunity to expose her to the wonders of NASA Stennis and other space museums, nurturing her curiosity and passion for the field.
