What is STEAM Education?

NorthShore Robotics (NSR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit STEAM education organization serving St Tammany Parish, the Florida Parishes and surrounding areas. NSR has an award winning competitive robotics team participating in VEXIQ tournaments, offers after school classes and summer camps and participates in community events. Our organization is dedicated to helping students explore STEAM education through lessons in programming, mechanical engineering, and design. Hands on learning and competition help our students build skills such as problem solving, teamwork, communication, patience and perseverance. Technology

As the student grows in the curriculum, there are many advanced technologies they will explore such as touch, light and gyroscopic sensors and robot brains that can be programmed to perform complex behaviors. 

Science

Robotics brings science to life as students learn real world applications for scientific theories such as Newton’s three laws, leverage and torque, material properties, and so much more!

Engineering

NorthShore Robotics provides students access to fully stocked robotics kits to explore. In our program your student will learn all about gears, pistons, sprockets, wheels, and a wide range of other simple machines that form the backbone of modern engineering.

Art is the foundation of robotics.  Each and every part of a robot begins with a sketch. As the students design their robots they will be guided through the principles of scale, perspective, and orientation. This will help turn their thoughts and ideas into a well structured plans.  

Mathematics

The hands on nature of robotics makes math fun, relatable, and easy to learn. As students face complex problems such as ratios, vectors, and derivatives they will learn not just HOW to solve math math equations , but WHEN to apply them.
